I was up at my shop last weekend. Depressing, won't go into that here, but I saw something in the shop that caught my eye. Covered in dust- an Edelbrock box. Big enough for a manifold. It was gray with dust , couldn't read the writing.
I opened it. A looks-like-freshly-painted aluminum intake for my 455 is inside. Painted the right color. With a thermostatic choke set up for the dual-divorced chokes on the stock Q-jet that belongs on my vintage musclecar. This thing looks brand spanking new. A Carter AFB type with electric choke is installed now; always disliked the electric choke.
I have
no recollection whatsoever of buying this intake manifold. Must have been through my old club, since I doubt the intake fairy stopped by. Maybe I can find one of my several Rochesters...unless I traded one or more for the manifold!
