Space Shuttle Retirement update.
On Monday and Tuesday, Space Shuttle Endeavour had her tail cone moved into place and installed. The tail cone is meant to protect the Replica Shuttle Main Engines and provide aerodynamic stability. Endeavour only has a week of retirement procedures left. Endeavour will swap places with Space Shuttle Atlantis on Thursday. That will conclude Space Shuttle Endeavour's retirement process. Endeavour will sit in the Vehicle Assembly building until September 16th - 18th, weather permitting. Space Shuttle Endeavour is set to leave Kennedy Space Center for the last time September 20th, and land in Los Angeles the next day. Endeavour will then sit in a United Airlines hanger for a couple weeks then make it's 12 mile trek through Los Angeles to the museum. The trek will take at least 2 days.
