I am not a vintage Chevy muscle guy, but I know for a fact that Oldsmobile 442 wagons were ordered and delivered during this time. Berejik Olds used to enter one in shows around here.
If a savvy buyer ticked the right boxes, the equivalent of a Chevelle SS wagon could be had in 1970, I'm sure, and they would have been four door cars

I get that. It just doesn't make any sense to call a car "SS" when SS was an upgrade to a car.
