Caddies strike me as sort of a Detroit "secret." Yes, for years, they were the gold standard, but then they faded from view. They became cars for "old people," nothing much more than a feeble attempt by retirees to go out with a perceived bang, on a name that was outdated but they didn't know it. Then Caddy zigged when it should have zagged, and tried its hand at cheapo economy. Resale value on a Caddy was a joke... drive it off the lot, and by the time you got home, it was worth more in scrap than in resale, even if it stilll perfectly new.
But then, just a few years later, things changed again, and very quietly, like a panther skulking through the dark, the Wreathed One is coming back with some very fine automobiles.
I'd drive one in a heartbeat... the current lineup doesn't have a single one that I would not be perfectly happy in, and, unbefitting their reputation from just a few short years ago, youngsters are NOT opposed to them. They are bling, they are performance, they are cool, they are powerful, and they are luxury.
CTS-V is a badass. Camaros are badass, but now you've got badass that is highly approved of by the kids, the grandparents, the boss, and even the blonde beach bunnies on their way to Spring Break. Your loss of the Camaro is HIGHLY mitigated by being in that CTS-V! Congratulations!
