I agree. It can only go up from here. The worst that could happen is the government DOES make a bunch of cars getting 30-35 mpg, like someone else said, which will probably sell, for a while until GM starts making money to pay off the loans. And what's so bad about that? It's not like they couldn't make anything with a v8 at all...they just need to meet a certain mpg average between all their cars, which when you think about it, the economic cars that are sure to come would allow more v8's, no?

In the end, I think GM filing for Ch. 11 will help them in the long run. They're shedding excess weight, and slimming down to just what they need. While I hate to see Pontiac go, I have to admit that it's stupid of GM to have so many "cousin" vehicles.
