Haha well sorry to bust your bubble, but there really isn't an "easy way" to diet. Especially if you like lots of variety. At first, just cutting some calories out will be plenty. But that part won't last forever. But, as a general rule of thumb to make things simple...
Lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish, sirloin steak, etc)
Brown carbs, no white ones (rice, whole wheat, oats, pastas, sweet potatos... if the color is white, stay away from it)
Healthy fats (cup of milk, almonds, peanuts...)
Green Veggies (broccoli, spinach, asparagus, romaine lettuce...)
And stay the hell away from soda, candy, fast food, fatty meats, and processed foods in general. And ONCE per week, have ONE meal that is... well pretty much whatever you want.
The hardest part is counting calories. There is lots of info in this thread on how to do it. But you really should do it. Getting that 6-pack is lots and lots of hard work. The leaner you get, the harder it will be. BUT... totally worth it when you look in the mirror in a couple months.
