I'd say so. I'd look at the World Golf Village area. West of I95 on International Golf Parkway. There are some good new communities there as well as some homes with land. Good schools in that area also.
I work in Jax and it's a 25 mile commute each way. Takes me 25 min normally, 35 if traffic is bad. And yes we are more like South GA than anything else...
