Those kids are lucky it wasn't my husband - he stutters too, but if he gets stuck on a word and someone starts to trash talk about it he shuts them up right quick. 3 would not have been a big enough group for him to back down. Not saying YOU didn't do the right thing, OP, just that those kids will run into someone who won't tolerate it one of these days.
Honestly - there is a group of about 20 kids that have been lurking downtown spokane and they are ganging up on people, beating them senseless and running off before the cops can get there. It's getting ridiculous, they are considering a curfew downtown, which will just send them off into neighborhoods instead.
