It is cheaper to make a car have more HP than it is to make it handle better. I think this is why Ford chose to take this route.
Ford is going to have to step up with handling. To make a statement and slap GM in the face they have carelessly over powered their mustang without balancing it with better handling.
An inexperienced driver is going to get into the throttle through a turn and end up pointing their nose into oncoming traffic.
