Well, in my experience taking a picture with a cell phone is a more combersome operation than using an actual camera. Not just the less erogonomic design of the phone but then secondary functions, like adjust for conditions or looking through other pics that have been taken are also more difficult. This is independant of the pixel count or other objective quality measures, or even subjective impressions of what a good picture looks like. Its simply harder to use a phone as a camera than it is to use a camera as a camera. That sounds kinda obvious when its said like that, but sometimes the obvious needs to be said.

And while you can access the internet with a smart phone, I would hate typing out a ~400 word post on Camaro5 (like this one) while using a smart phone. And this is just a 'casual' post. Often I'm swaping between Camaro5 and one or more other websites for use reference info (such as, lets say MotorTrend.com or Chevrolet.com) or just to grap pics or smileys from. Can it be done? Sure. But there is a huge difference between being 'capable' of doing something and being 'good' at something (I'll leave out excelling for now). Then of course there is everything else you can do on a computer that you can't do on a phone.

As for carying everything around ... no, I don't do that either. Whats the point? If I'm out and about, I don't need to go online or play games so the laptop stays put. And unless I actually plan on taking pictures of something (such as at a car show, or my brothers wedding) I won't bring my camera either. Spur of the moment pictures just aren't something that I've felt the urge to take. If I'm away from home (and therefore, away from my camera), chances are I'm either driving, working, with friends/family, exercising (running or cycling), or I'm doing some form of shopping. Of all those, the only time when I might be interested in taking pictures is when I'm with friends of family. But there are a couple things preventing me from takings pics in that situation. First, usually there is someone there who always takes pics. And second, I'd hate to be thought of as that person who is always taking pictures, so I keep my picture taking to a minimum.
