It really isn't that hard, it's easier than changing oil or a tire. Just go down to the auto parts store and pick up a book on the 5th gens. Never pay the dealership to do this kind of work, it will literally take you 15 minutes and cost about $200 in parts.

Also as the poster above said, it just requires a socket wrench set. That's it. No special tools.
