I'm going to make a prediction:
We all know that as of this moment, GM has more hybrids than anyone else and more 30MPH cars than anyone else. This was true yesterday, correct?
Now that the administration has laid down this new mandate, how long do you think it's going to be before they credit themselves with getting GM to stop making all those wasteful SUVs that nobody wants and now they make efficient hybrids and electric cars thanks to the wonderful leadership and these mandates.
I guarantee you they will try and usurp credit for the technology GM has been working on all these years and probably the advances in quality they have made too.
Mark my words!
The people in washington (of all parties) will latch on and go for a free ride!
