As much as LOVE the look of the ZL1, I'm dissapointed as hell in its stock straight-line performance. I could "settle" for the look of the Shelby as long as it solidly runs in the 11's, but I won't "settle" for a ZL1 that struggles to even get into the low 12's...even if it does look MUCH better in my opinion. Unless the ZL1 were to magically (or should I say miraculously?) get a bump of 100hp or more from GM, I don't see one in my future :(.
I'm waiting a bit longer to see how the C7 Corvette looks (without the camo) and performs before I make my final decision, but more than likely my next vehicle will either be a low mileage C6 Z06 or a new Shelby.

Funny thing this new Shelby. I may drive a Mustang now but my last 5 cars were all BMWs and I cross shopped Camaros and Mustangs before deciding on the Boss. Never drawn to a Shelby before but if the ZL1 caught my interest, this new GT500 has me absolutely mesmerized. Maybe it's the numbers, maybe it's that it's the last Shelby era Shelby but I think it's just the cool grill free front end. Very AC Cobra like.
