Years and years ago the Harley crowd made the same complaints. That you could go and buy a Harley Davidson t-shirt from K-Mart and have never owned a motorcycle in your life. But still it brings revenue, attention, and appreciation to HD. And it shows support.
And BTW, a car show is about the best looking and cleanest car. So if a Camaro wins, it could be corruption...or it could be that it was indeed the best looking and cleanest car there. Just because you threw $30,000 in mods at your car doesn't mean it looks better than a bone stock car. It's not about money spent on mods, it is about the car that deserves to win.
