I've got news for you. The government is spending TRILLIONS and TRILLIONS and a few billion here or there for GM is literally peanuts. The government is no more interested in making a profit with GM than they are with the post office.
Remember ... these people print money when they run out.
They could have loaned money with some strings attached like they did with Chrysler 25 years ago. Instead they're working hard to take stock and ownership. Obama is giving the unions control of these companies.
I don't think GM will die ... but the days of building cars that consumers want is going to be over. The future will be cars that the government thinks we SHOULD buy.
To me that's a BIG difference.
I'll take delivery of my SS and then run for the hills ....

Yeah...a Camaro may very well be my last new GM car or Truck...not a bad way to finish up, but sad just the same. I am keeping my 08 Esclade perfect and low mileage...they will be extict soon. The Camaro 2LT I order will be driven til the wheels fall off. The Vette will stay in the garage for weekends and cruises. Sad that a legacy of nearly 23 years of nearly 100% GM cars and trucks will come to an end. 50 years for my dad!
