Again, I was just touching upon tire width... Nothing less, nothing more, NOTHING to do with all that rigamarole typed above, and the fact that we both wandered off into the woods talking about apples/oranges 1969 limited-build cars doesn't mean that I'm trying to segue that into a forecast of how these NEW cars will fare with mods...
Although one obvious thing comes to mind... Forged internals..
