the gt500 is built wholy by ford. the supercharged 5.4 liter that resides in the current gt500 is built at fords romeo niche plant. each engine is hand built, and signed by the tech who built it.
the car itself is built by fords svt division..
now i'll ask you a question, since you're concerned about factory to factory.
look at the continental tire challenge. why is it that ford, bmw, porsche, and aston martin run production cars in the gs class, but the camaro gs-r is not a production car? at least not the last time i checked.
