Simply put ... yes, even though I don't know what you are comparing it to.

The suspension geometry and placement, major structural elements, certain relationships (like dash to axle), engine and transmission allowances, certain pieces of sheet metal (like floor pans), and a whole host of other engineered bits define what a platform is.
