The Avalanche is the most under-appreciated utility vehicle on the market, and GM will now be handing those truck sales to the Honda Ridgeline. It's a disappointment on both the sales side and the utility side. While magazines berated the truck for being too little like a traditional truck, the Avalanche boasted more space and better handling due to its unibody structure. It wasn't designed for everyone, and people who need a work truck are usually better suited with a Silverado or Colorado, but the Avalanche does have a market and might have benefitted from a restyle had GM put forth the effort to keep it in production. Instead, they created a truck that looks just like GM's other SUVs and failed to advertise the versatility and usefulness of this unique platform. I'm a sports car guy, but if I had a need for a truck, I would be an Avalanche buyer.
