The south (NE FL) is the same.. etiquette is you don't say specifically. But a lot of times when friends are looking for jobs, and we'll try to help, we'll have to ask what are their salary requirements... So inevitably it comes out....
As a manager I know what my bosses and my employees make. Mostly because when building proposals I include their salaries in the budget...
But that's just my teeeny tiny little world. I do see the logic behind, and have followed that rule of don't talk about salary for many years...
