Well the evo x has earlier power delivery than you would expect, and the LS3 has a "dead spot" up to 3k, but the ls3 has torque right NOW in any gear. I was in the same boat as you, plus the Camaro is dead sexy. Now I regret it lol. The Camaro is awesome, but the evo has that x factor (excuse the pun). The Camaro is the better daily driver in fair weather. I would test drive both though.

LoL. Dead spot is funny. There is no dead spot, but if you compare it to a car with a turbo, then yes it might feel like a dead spot. Turbos/superchargers are different beasts. I like turbos/superchargers but there are downsides. NA compared to boosted is different.
Either is fine. What I like is the camaro. That's me though. I was never a big fan of any import I owned. Again, those are just my personal preferences.
What I see with the EVO is smaller motor, less hp, same or slightly worse fuel economy. More maintenance.
A little less weight too, but it's using aluminum in some places. Not a lightweight by any means though.
As for more room. You got it there. Although the evo's rear leg room isn't really spectacular either, but better than the camaro's. I have rarely used the back seats or trunks in my cars so although it would be nice to have more room it's not really necessary.
