Awesome sequential gearbox in the MR, handling is more direct, and quicker (13.3:1 steering vs 16.1:1), S-AWC system is fun (I just turn Stabilitrac off because it sucks), it's FUN with snow tires not just adequate, and if you've never felt active yaw control you need to. To get the power/weight ratio to SS Camaro levels is easy, but a Camaro needs a lot of work to handle similarly, but it will never be as good (AWD + S-AYC + ACD + S-ABS + front LSD = hand of god)
I thought I wanted a more plush ride and more tractable power around town, and although nice, there just really is no comparison. And no it's not ONLY on the track. Just tonight I was getting frustrated with how slow the steering is, and how much hand-over-hand I do with it.
Basically the Evo is a jack of all trades, and the Camaro is a fair-weather one-trick pony.
Only problem with the Evo is it's ugly and expensive to maintain. But if you want a car that is good at aggressive street driving, even in the rain and ultra-tight twisties, loose gravel, auto-x, track days, the drags, the snow, and even dirt if you want, with 4 doors, the Evo can't be beat.
