Having the passion for cars but not being able to afford it and having to settle for a simulation is sad, and if I was in that kind of financial position I would appreciate a little sympathy. We don't need to make them feel bad by mocking them to their face. If you mocked them to their face they would probably try to defend themselves to save face, but what you're really doing is rubbing their poverty in their face - which is a dick move if you can afford the real thing.
My stance is that performance cars are a rich man's toy - they are fair game for mockery. What's not fair game are things that poor people may have to live with out of having no choice.

That's perfectly fair. And I thought about it.
But
A) He'll never read this.
B) Some of those things are WAY out there. If he could afford what he wanted somehow I think it would still be out there.
C) It's all in how you look at it. I'm laughing at the car. Not the guy.
Hell, I appreciate his desire and enthusiasm.
