If guns were not necessary your police wouldn't have them. They *are* necessary at times, they just don't trust *you* to have them nor decide when those times are. Normal people get it wrong, but police get it wrong too. Nobody is perfect.
I carry a gun because I was never assigned a personal cop or bodyguard. When I am, I'll gladly leave my guns at home
