How hard is it to not change that? If I watch TMNT I want to see some friggen mutant turtles! Or, if you change one ... may as well change all of them -Adult Alien Karate Iguanas anyone? Perhaps named after ancient Greek philosophers? It would be just as popular with the purists, although if done properly you could avoid copy write infringement that way, and just be labelled as a guy who ripped off TMNT for a story -much less bothersome to the fans.
