Why? Because they're catering to a market that prefers the ride, handling, and fuel economy of car based crossovers over the towing, hauling, and off-roading capability of body-on-frame SUVs? Building what the majority want ... yup, stupid way to run a business. Much better to cater to each and every niche, spending billions to make millions.
Would it be nice to see a new TrailBlazer? Sure. But I honestly don't see there being a big enough pool of buyers in the US to justify it. What role would the TrailBlazer fill? People who really want/need the capability of an SUV will get a Tahoe or Suburban. The ones that care more about fuel economy will take an Equinox or Traverse. So the TrailBlazer buyer is looking for what, something that isn't terribly capable or efficient?
