On the way home today, there was a funeral procession coming along the highway. As is custom, all drivers pulled over to the shoulder of the road and waited to the line passed. We do this as a sign of respect to the deceased and his or her family. Men take their hats off. It is such a wonderful show of respect. It's such a sentimental act of kindness in a world of chips on everyone's shoulders and "what do I get out of it" society.
I wonder if this is a tradition in our area or do other states do this as well?

In this age when people have lost respect for others, it it good to hear about people still doing simple things like this to show respect. I only wish people would put others ahead of themselves in all situations. There is just too much of people being in too much of a hurry to be concerned about anyone but themselves.
