I like the equinox as far as quality and styling and all those points you made, but if GM can't make a version that does the job then I will be forced to look elsewhere. I REALLY do not want to have to buy a Jeep or an import. But they may leave no option.

You do realize that you can buy a 6 cylinder All Wheel Drive Equinox dont you? That is plenty of power to all 4 wheels to meet 99% of off road challenges.
