Yeah the Walmart on the Strip was damaged along with the Branson Mall and Jubilee grocery store. For those familiar with Branson, I'll try and give a report. The Landing sustained some damage not much. Mainly some broken windows and debris which is getting cleaned up. Joes is fine. Also some street lights were destroyed. The Hilton Convention Ctr sustained enough damage that it will be closed for a couple of months. It's mainly broken windows so it's a lot of broken glass cleanup. Some homes just west of old down town Branson were damaged. Maybe 1-3 that cant be repaired. They were vacant and run down so maybe that wasnt such a bad thing. There were also some felled power poles, lines and trees. Trust me I helped in Joplin where the brain couldn't even take in the devastation. This doesn't even compare in the slightest.
As you drive up the strip from I-65 everthing's fine. As you pass the fire station on the right and begin approaching the next bend the gas station on the left and the old dilapidated strip mall to the right where Mazzio's and Nature's Sunshine Health food store are heavily damaged. Continuing on down the strip it really kind of random. As you approach the Dick Clark theater and the Dixie Stampede theatre you see that Dick Clark sustained some damage and that Dixie Stampede did not. Some old run down motels around there we're destroyed so I'm trying to decide how bad that is. Moving down the strip past Applebee's and music City Center and Grand Country everything is fine and comes the Walmart/Branson Mall/Jubilee complex they keep showing on the news. The adjacent Taco Bell sustained considerable damage as well as the Hotel behind it and McDonalds west of Jubilee. That area was hit pretty hard. Moving westward down the strip some of the Ride the Ducks mobiles sustained damage to the sun canopies. Moving down past Denny's Krispy Kremes, it's fine. Andy Williams Theatre sign was heavily damaged but not his theatre. Branson Variety Theatre further west and across the street sustained substantial damage to the facade but the theatre itself is ok. It looks worse than it actually is which is the opposite of the Dick Clark theatre. Moving further west the Grand Palace is untouched as well as the Grand Village. Cakes-N-Cremes across the street is fine but everything around sustained significant damage. Moving westward the Presley's and Baldknobbers' Theatres are fine. The Americana theatre is heavily damaged. Random older surrounding motels also sustained damage. Moving along westward down to Clay Cooper theatre and the Titanic museum those structures are fine. Again some crack hotels around there were destroyed. Moving westward believe it or not Ripley's Believe it or Not made to look broken building is untouched but the airplane sitting atop the Mini Golf place is pretty wasted along with some of those older motels next to it. From there moving down towards The Mickey Gilley Theatre where we play no damage and it remains so all the way down to IHOP. No damage on Shepherd of the Hills or along Gretna going past Country Mart, Kmart and Staples. The Super Walmart Best Buy Kohl's MC Sports Home Depot Target all untouched.
