Heck looking at V6 models, the Accord coupe, Altima coupe, even the Eclipse and G37 are closer competitors than the CRZ and Veloster, again, they picked a slow selling hybrid and a car that only came out in November of last year to skew the numbers.
As for the corvette, what about the Obvious GT-R??? The 370 Nismo? ate least pit other performance cars instead of of ones you'd be more likely to find in a secratry's parking spot.

Look at the numbers. Add them up. Do they equal 100? No. Why? Because they only listed the biggest sellers in the segment. There are dozens of other cars that each have a 1-5% slice of the market that simply weren't listed.

Always remember that you are unique ... just like everyone else.

It makes perfect sense when people wax lyrical about why Camaros are better made, or faster or damn good. But going on about sales figures and how "they're everywhere - yay!" is like saying Macdonalds is better than Fatburger because there's a like "one on every street corner! yay!"
Who does that except a corporate franchise marketing agent?

I don't see the distinction between having a good product & having a successful product. To me, the only way for a product to be truly successful is to actually deliver what people are willing to buy. Which means that you have to include not only style and performance, but also value. And when you weigh every single possible factor that enters a potential buyers mind ... Camaro's & Corvettes turn out to be a better choice do it better than any other performance car on the market -hence, their high market shares.
Think of it this way ... if someone didn't believe that a Camaro or Corvette was the best possible car to meet what they want (given their available means), they wouldn't buy it. I can't image that there is anyone out there that says 'ya know, the GT-R is a really nice car and I'd like to own one
buuut Corvettes are more popular so I'll just settle for a ZR1 instead'. Some people might buy clothing like that, but spending tens of thousands on a car is a little different.
