It's a different car culture that we'll never understand I guess.
They're not interested in actually arriving at their destination sooner or even getting around (or to the end of) a track faster. They wanna look like The Fast And The Furious, yo!

My pickup gets me to my destination a whole lot faster than any cut-spring exhaust-dragging wing-toting ricer. I can accelerate as fast, cruise faster (because cops will pull the ricer first), and roll right over anything that's in my way (like speed bumps and parking lot exits).

This man speaks the truth.

It is not necessarily their view on cars that annoys me, but the misinformation that surrounds it.
They really think that bolting a park bench onto their trunk lid or a coffee can on their exhaust makes their car faster...those guys are as annoying as the ones who do it knowing it won't make their car faster. I can't decide which bothers me more, the ignorance or the vanity.

Oh, and anybody who really cares about horsepower per liter is a ricer. I don't care if you drive a .3L car or a 20.5L car. If you are making big power, thats cool with me.
No, a ricer is one who puts stuff on the car that's supposed to look like something that, sometime in the past, made a car faster...but does not accomplish the job or does something else stupid instead.

This guy wanted to race me in my econobox hatchback:

I let him fly off from the light while I accelerated gently.

This one...well, it speaks for itself:

This one too:

I posted this one on another forum and a user there reported seeing this car actually racing. I wonder how much faster his car would be with an appropriate exhaust and that silly wing gone?
