Wow 2 pages, I was gone for couple of days and this thread lived on...

Thank you all for your comments...especially...

JohnnyComeLately - Scooby Doo Mystery - LoL

steelrfan - thanx

Smirnoff - yes maybe, but my shoelace would've had to have been stuck or something...the burn lasted too long for a simple foot slip. Never insult someones intelligence with poorly thought out lies.

HookemHorns (as well as others) - I am definitely fighting the tickets, that's what the system is for. The car inspected clean when I bought it...

ffrcobra_65 - I did laugh out loud when I read that but alas...see bribery below...

PorsheDude - Yep, I've seen that video...that guy was an UBER D!(k. But they're (aholes that is) among us all - unfortunately that means law inforcement gets their share too.

NYJETSFAN - Yes I am, and thanx.

Steve Dallas - I agree with you and I am curious too...His first words to me were (as loudly as he could and still maintain a clear voice):

"THE REASON I PULLED YOU OVER WAS BECAUSE YOU HAVE AN ILLEGALLY MODIFIED EXHAUST AND AN IMPROPER LICENSE PLATE COVER. DO YOU THINK WE SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE WE LIKE IT???

My response was:

"Sir, it REALLY had nothing to do with you or the accident scene. I was frustrated because the lady ahead of me was keeping a 30 to 35 car length following distance and then she went from our 15 mph roll to stopped as we cleared the accident scene so she could rubberneck"

At that point he demanded my paperwork (which I was already digging out). I am still not sure what exactly set him off but he was visibly angry. I speculate the sound caught him off guard and he jumped...which would have been embarassing...??? Who knows....?

With envy - Yes they were clearly discretionary tickets. I have been pulled over in the car several times (front tag, Camaros were still just out and I was waiting for my front plate bracket - got yanked 4 times in three weeks warnings all around) and have never had one officer mention my exhaust until now.

Scrappy Doo - thank you for your sentiments.

Ivas, Ivas, Ivas - No offense but - What country are you from and how long have you been here? As SnowVert has pointed out - that is called 'bribery', is a felony, and is just plain not a wise thing to attempt in the United States. I hope you heed our warnings because, in addition to being illegal, it is considered an insult to officers here and will probably result in additional 'discretionary' charges.

Thanks to all again, and 'keep it between the ditches'
