Hey Hylton, Sit down -- take a deep breath. I know you are VERY ANXIOUS. I am too.
This is NOT meant as an ATTACK on anyone
But consider:
- Production started March 16, not Oct. 13
- Sold orders always depend on the dealer's "allocation" (not a "free-for-all")
- Franchise laws set some distribution policies (re: getting A CAR to EVERY dealer)
- AVIS probably ordered their Camaros in June (e.g. "I'll take 10,000 Impalas if you let me get 50 early Camaros")
- And regarding the "boneheaded decisions", it's all about managing conflicting choices. It's usually impossible to satisfy ALL of them, so the guys in the big chairs have to make a decision.
- I'm sure there are a lot of good people at GM busting their a$$ to get us a trouble-free car ASAP.
- And lastly, it's got to be a little tough, trying to do your best job when the world is writing your company's obituary on the front page EVERY DAY, and your leaders are trying to keep the place open while being forced to cut off a LOT of limbs.
- I'm glad I don't have to try to do it -- I just count the days until my 2SS arrives.
