I hear you, it's a bit overwhelming with the bizzare controls and the rediculous mayhem. I was a little discouraged, but then I flipped through the control configurations and found the "race" something one. Puts the weapons on the face buttons and thegas/break on the shoulder buttons like most driving related games.
Demo was online only right? The campaign makes picking it up way easier since the AI is FAR less aggressive on Normal than anyone you'll play online.
