All three have their strengths, but I don't see the .40 as a compromise at all. I think of it more as the best of both worlds.
You're going to get a lot of different opinions on which round you should use, but it really depends on what they're for. I have a .40 H&K that I keep in my vehicle. Our summers are really hot down here, so I carry my Ruger LCP in my pocket then.
I'm looking at an FN FNX-45 (.45 cal) tactical for home defense and the range. I'm also checking out the Kahr PM9 (9mm) to have something a little smaller to carry than the H&K.
What will the weapon be used for?
