Gunny, the REAGAN was commissioned before Reagan passed away. I was on the ship at the time and were were in transit to San Diego from Virginia at the time. The CO (Capt. James Symonds) actually left the ship during the transit and attended the funeral and presented the Ensign that was flying over the ship when we heard he had passed away to Mrs. Reagan.
