Ford did it with the Crown Vic.

A lot of media outlets are praising GM for it. The tooling's already there, and the Outlook always looked more GMC-ish than the Acadia, so why not use it?

It's a non-issue. Most buyers won't even notice or won't care, and as JusticePete said in another thread, it makes the Acadia look stronger while freshening the design at the same time.

By the way, it's important to note that in no way did Acadia even need an MCE. The vehicle is still selling well. For all of you who are yelling "old GM," the old GM would've let the car wither on the vine with no changes and redesigned it only because they had to.
