New 2ss owner in Beaufort...

Hey guys (and ladies), I'm new to this forum and new to camaros in general. Honestly my last three cars have been mustangs, an 04, 07, and '11, all GTs. I liked all three, but my last mustang, the '11 5.0, kinda made me skittish of Mustangs. But before I get into that story, let me tell you some more about me lol.
I'm from Beaufort, NC and work aboard Cherry Point as a civilian. I've owned several mustangs, an 89 Supra, and several other less notorious cars lol. I'm not sure who else is on here that lives nearby but it would be interesting to see who does.
Alright so here is the deal with the 5.0... I traded my 07 gt in (it had some minor mods and some sweet suspension work, but wasn't too impressive) and got the 5.0 second hand from a reputable Honda dealer locally with around 12k miles on the odometer of the 5.0 when I left the dealership. For a few months, it was great. I purchased a few upgrades, a new intake, new intake manifold, and had a reputable speed shop hook it up with a killer tune. The car managed 426 horses to the wheels on an uncorrected dynojet dyno. But sadly, it only made around 10 more lb-ft of torque, turning around 350 lb-ft at the strongest run. That was all fine by me. I drove the car for a for more weeks and loved it. Everything was great. Until I took it to the track. I ran several passes at the track and the best I could pull was a 13.02 @ 113. It was making the speed but it would not launch no matter what I did. Granted the air temp was only 50 degrees that day and I was running street tires (factory pirellis to be exact), so even that didn't bother me all that much. Just let me know I had some stuff I needed to fix to make it faster. So I'm going to leave the track and hop in my car and start to drive off and my stomach turns over. My trans is whining. And I mean loud. My first thought is WTF? Then as I'm still driving, I'm thinking of all the nightmares that the mustangs are having with their mt-82 transmissions. I'm envisioning the ford place just laughing at me when I drive up and tell them what's wrong with my car. But when I stopped at the local ford dealer, they actually said they would fix it. Of course I didn't tell them I took it to the track but they did know about the aftermarket parts. And agreed to fix it anyway. Surprised me honestly. But after some hassle and no less than 5 weeks later, I got my mustang back. I test drove it with the service advisor in the car and the trans sounded fixed to me, but now there was a weird noise in the engine. I told the service advisor and he agreed that it sounded odd, but that maybe it was my intake coming loose (this had happened before) and I was too happy with getting my car back to really be too concerned about it. Another thing I noted when I got in my car: the mpg readout was way down to 18.5. Now I normally have mpg readings around 22-23, so my first thought was that somebody had either reset it, or they had ran the pure hell out of my car. That night, after I had secured my intake and the confirmed it was not making the weird noise, I drove my car around town and kept getting the sinking feeling that somebody had in fact driven the hell out of my car. It made sense to me anyway lol. So I take off from work and take the car back first thing the next morning. The dealer basically told me that they could no longer her the noise in the motor and that whatever noise was there must be from my aftermarket parts. I told him that wasn't possible cause it wasn't making that noise when I dropped it off and my intake is still making the noise it has always made. Now it just had an awesome valvetrain ticking noise to go with it. They pretty much told me they would not honor my warranty on the car with the aftermarket parts installed. Even though they had just rebuilt the trans in it with those same aftermarket parts installed. I was more than a little pissed when I left the dealership and went straight to the next ford dealer in the next town over to look for a Automatic 5.0. And couldn't find one. I looked for a week and could not find one locally that I liked. Hell I only found two auto mustangs total, one was a base gt and one was a v6. I didn't want either. So I eventually decided to roll down to the nearest chevy dealer and look around. My camaro was the first one to really catch my eye on the lot and about 5 hours later I was rolling home in my 2ss.

Sorry for the monologue but that's my story for the past six months lol. I'm sure there is more but I'm gonna bet your tired of reading by now lol
