The list of boring, drab, absolutely uninspired rides in the time period that you are describing is HUGE. Nothing that ANYONE will lament being crushed and never seen again.

I STRONLY disagree with you.
The Chrysler LH cars were great, family had 2, they were actually sporty, handled great, and were definatly NOT for just old fogies. Same with the cloud cars and Neon. The Rams and Dakotas were also excellent and the 94 Ram and 97 Dakota were both well ahead of their time.
The Lincoln Mark VIII was an excellent car too. Big RWD coupe, 290 HP DOHC V8, fully independant suspension.
Pontiac 6000 was actually considered ahead of it's time when it came out and the SE versions of the GP and Bonnie were base models that actually appealed to younger and less afluent. The Cavalier Z24s at the time were also popular people as a sporty and fun to drive car. If you knew the Caprice you would not say this. At least as a used car it is quite popular with the younger set. Especially the 94-96 with the LT1 in it. I had one with the LT1 and B4U package and still kick myself for having to sell it.
