7 year old paypal reimbursement payment

Hello MR. smith,

We wanted to let you know about a system related reconciliation issue that impacted how we handled an old chargeback previously filed against you. Don’t worry. There’s nothing for you to do. We just want to let you know what happened and what we are doing next.

In a typical chargeback dispute, a buyer asks his/her credit card company to get his money back from the seller. The credit card company then notifies PayPal, and we place a temporary hold on the related funds in the sellers’ PayPal account. The credit card company will then determine whether the case should be settled in the buyer’s favor, or if the funds should be released to you, the seller. In the case where the seller wins, paypal would release the hold on the funds being held in your account. However, we recently discovered that, due to a system-related issue, your funds were not released to your PayPal account registered to xxxxxx@att.net for the following chargeback(s):

Date 3/13/2005
Amount 32.54 USD

We have arranged to credit the original chargeback amount(s) into your PayPal account, plus an additional daily money market rate percentage on the amount of the chargeback(s), calculated from the date the chargeback was filed against you, as an interest and courtesy payment. You should see this deposit in your PayPal account by the end of the month.

We want to assure you that customer service is a top priority at PayPal, and we sincerely apologize for this issue. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Customer Service by clicking on “Contact Us” at the bottom of any PayPal page on our website, www.paypal.com.

Sincerely,

PayPal
