Warning evolutionary biology alert:
Men have developed better depth perception a a function of having to hunt animals and hit them at various distances with various instruments. This is also a partial reason why most men navigate in absolute cardinal directions a oppose to by landmarks (as a large number of women do). Men who couldn't kill and provide and then make it home didn't get to breed. Thus men with better perception and navigating skills flourished.
This is the same reason why women can pick up on subtle differences in shades of color. As they were the gathers of fruits and vegetables they needed to be able to discern which of the red berries wouldn't kill you.
