And if we just took a G8, slapped a twin-port grille/Chevy badge on it, that would meet US crash-test specs. Stick the Camaro's V6 in there and it would be pretty fuel efficient as well.

I don't think so, In my opinion the death of the G8 was it's fuel economy. My wife wanted one till I saw it's EPA. My sister wants one, but she doesn't like the fuel economy either. Loves the power but not good enough to keep her from buying either a malibu or a altima. The new engine coming next year showed promise, but now
