We had an adventure today it just was not the one we had planned. We were headed out to drive the Tail of the Dragon. We were in the Smokey Mountains National Park headed in that direction when suddenly Mike's truck sputtered, surged a bit then it was like it just ran out of gas. We were lucky that we were close enough to a pull out to get it off the road and lucky enough to be in a spot where we had some cell phone coverage on Mike's phone (none on mine). We had to get towed & ended up in a seriously
appalachian garage. Hard core mountain folks, but very nice. We rented a pos Ford Tarus from them to use while they put in a new fuel pump. That will all set us back about $700 but insurance will pay the towing. Oh well, we won't get to check out the Tail of the Dragon this trip but we are back at our condo & safe. It could have been much worse.
