Sorry, GM only sold 8,000 Volts so far. They aren't selling because they cost too much. Volt is the right idea at the wrong time. Buy a 40 mpg Cruze as a half price Volt. You would own a Volt for 15 years before you would be money ahead of a Cruze. If I had $45k to spend on a new car, it wouldn't be a Volt.

Bingo! Me and the service director at the dealership were just talking about the same exact thing! We figured you'd have to put 120,000 miles on the Volt before you would equal what the Cruze would cost you,and thats "IF" you never have to buy gas. So yeah,15 years or 120,000 miles before you would be money ahead of the Cruze. I was going to buy one for a daily driver/work car,but not at $43k+,I was hoping they would be around $30k,I can get a Cruze for $18k.
Don't get me wrong,I love the idea and the concept,I think its a great idea,just way too expensive!
