I can't wait to see these 2 go up against each other. I like the ATS but a lot of it kinda feels like they are just phoning it in. THe standard engine is NA 4 cylinder with 200 HP???? The manual is only available with 1 motor/drivetrain combo? Styling really breaks no grounds and is basically a softer CTS than is on it's 5th year in production? I do like the styling, but am kinda sad it sorta looks old before it even hits the road. I do think they did a great job on the interior and the platform seems top notch. The turbo/manual drivetrain will probably be the most entertaining.

THe BMW is surely breaking no grounds with the new one, but the design does somehow come across and fresher and a bit sharper than the last gen. The BMW will offer the turbo 4 as standard, manuals will be available on all models and for the auto, the 8 speed auto vs 6 speed will surely give the Bimmer an edge there. The turbo I6 in the Bimmer with is far superior torque is the better choice IMHO. I don't really care for the interior, it just seems like they have been running the same basic design for 20 years now.

Bottom line, i agree with MT, it's really kind of a draw until both cars are really driven. I want to see a matchup of manual/turbo/RWD models as that is probably where the ATS will put up it's best fight.
