Just like the rebadgeing concept people tear down pontiac for GM doing it wrong. Pontiac just needs some love to make them a performance division and give them a reason to live. BTW pontiac has had quite some success with all of its performance vehicles. the last firebird, for example. this was one of the best cases of badge engineering. the car used the same F-body, the same powertrain, the same factory. what killed it was the fact that it got old, tired, and needed a replacement which the bean counters decided wasnt a good idea. The recent GTO also did exactly what it was intended to do as well. GM f'ed the resale value on 04 models because it updated the look and engine right out of the gate. other than that it was ment to have a short run in life as the monaro was set to be replaced by the commodore. the production got chopped one year early because the car didnt meet 07 safety regulations and wasnt worth a redesign for a single year of sales. I think that pontiac should rething their lineup to something more in line with the europeans and offer similar performance from something much less sophisticated and offer it at bottom prices. then stick them all in a raceing catagory and build a name for them

G8 - we all know this puppy, and its raceing in the v8 supercars over in australia
G7 - could also be named the g8 GTO, basically that coupe 60 concept was GORGEOUS and needs to be put into production. this is GTO styling done right. American Lemans, European Lemans, grand am series, im sure you could find somewhere to put this. just find a spot where there isnt Camaros, vettes, or CTSs already. or better yet, make them the teammate.
G6 - The Zeta platform had 3 sizes in mind when they created it, medium, large, and very large. the g8 is the middle child, so where is the little brother? if its the zeta II then maybe they could do a v6 only sedan version on that platform. throw in some DoD, Di, vvt and you even have your mainstream moddel putting out fantastic fuel economy without watering down the performance name. remember just Di got it to 29 in camaro form. Already laying waste in the rolex and grand am series.
G5 - sport/SS version of the cobalt ONLY! we dont need an XFE g5 running around... and the cobalt has to need a styling refresh soon. this is the fastest FWD car to date. let it be the ameture racer's car of choice
G4 - this is what the Vibe needs to evolve into. a sporty little hatchback, maybe once saturn dies then give them the astra. stick this thing in rally raceing
Solstice - platform is dead but that doesnt mean the car cant be based off another upcoming platform. there have been talks of stuff like alpha II and such, so maybe it might survive somehow. Autocross heaven anybody?

then to round out the pack get pontiac into some real raceing. we just got an american team into F1, want to make that 2 american teams? if you have pontiac's name popping up winning races everywhere you wont have to advertise the things because they will sell themselves... but please dont leave them hanging and not advertise.
