I've been saying this for years. My family takes a vacation out west every summer. There are huge expanses of empty road, where sports cars could easily and safely cruise at very high speeds all day long. (A few are so desolate, you could actually do 90-100 now without really having to worry about being caught). The savings in driving time would net an extra 2-3 days of actual time at our destinations, so the hotel savings would offset the extra gas.
