The ATS is literally right in line with 3-series. CTS always sorta straddled the line between 3-series and 5-series, when it moves to Alpha for the 3rd gen it will be a true 5-series competitor.
For now there might be some small overlap in the lineup simply because the Alpha CTS won't be ready for a year or so.
And no ATS Convertible as far as I know.
