I'm not sure what all I want to say here. I smoked on & off for a few years at a time. Not sure if I ever was truly addicted. I called myself a "stress smoker". Now I know that once I had the nicotine totally out of my system, I coped better with stress & no longer "needed" that cigarette. When I found out I was pregnant with my now 18 year old son, I never picked up another one.

Last year on my birthday, Aug 9th, I sat in a doctor's office with my mother & my 2 sisters and listened to a doctor tell my mother she had just months to live with treatment. She had lung cancer that had already spread to several parts of her body. She never smoked a day in her life. She told the doctor that and he said "But your husband did". My dad had stopped smoking when I was just a small child. I was so grateful he never had to hear that. This is the one blessing he got from Altzheimer's. We now think Radon gas in the home we all grew up in may have had more to do with it. Who knows? We lost my mother shortly before Thanksgiving last year.

Please all of you................quit, put them down...........never look back. Just go and look at the people that you care about. You don't want them to watch you die, you don't want to watch them die. Oh, and if you live in an area of the country that has Radon..............get your house tested. It is easy.

Good luck everyone. That is all. Ruby out.
