I just remember the time I had to spend 2 weeks in Germany and a co-worker and I had a rented Mercedes. We decided to take a trip to southern Germany one Sunday (trucks were not permitted on the Autobahn on Sundays and traffic was extremely light that morning) and topped out at 240 KPH (149 MPH) for a good stretch. We kept a steady 200 KPH and were passed several times!!! What an experience that was!! Would love to take my Camaro for a ride like that over there because I'm surely not going to try that here!!

My husband and I went to Rome a few years back. A year later, we received two traffic tickets in the mail. It costs us about $150 American to pay just one of them. We thought they might have been bogus, but found out they were legit. It's hard to know that you are in an area that doesn't allow tourists to drive if you can't read the signs...LOL
